Education Qualification: Degree (Any stream)

  • The candidate should have attained the age of 18 years as on January 1, 2022, but should not be more than 37 years.
  • The upper age limit for the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes of Punjab State will be 42 years.

Maximum Age – 28 years as on 31.10.2020

i.e. candidates must have been born not earlier than 01.11.1992 and not later than 31/10/2000 (both days inclusive). Maximum age indicated is for unreserved and EWS candidates.

SBI Apprentice Recruitment 2020 – Stipend/ Benefits

  • The apprentices are eligible for stipend of Rs.15000/- per month during 1st year
  • Rs.16500/- per month during 2nd year and
  • Rs.19000/- per month during 3rd year.

The apprentices are not eligible for any other allowances/ benefits.

Test of local language

The specified local languages of the states are as mentioned in the table above. The candidates applying for vacancies of a particular state, should be proficient (reading, writing, speaking and understanding) of the specified local language of that State as mentioned.

The test for knowledge of specified opted local language will be conducted as a part of selection process. It will be conducted after qualifying the online written examination. Candidates who fail to qualify this test will not be engaged for apprentice.

  • The medium of examination will be both in English and Punjabi (except questions of English and Punjabi Language subject.
  • There will be negative marking in multiple choice questions. For every wrong answer, 1/4th mark would be deducted.
  • Written test shall be 100% marks for consideration of merit in selection.

Age Limit :

  • Candidate should have attained the age of 21 years but should not be older than 37 years on 1st Jan, 2020.
  • That for Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes of Punjab age limit may be relaxed upto 5 years as per Punjab Government circular No.10972-4 WGI-65/3205 dated 16th, February 1966.
  • The upper age limit for a Punjab Government, Other State Government or the Government of India employee may be relaxed up to 45 years.
  • The upper age limit for widows, divorcees and certain other categories of married women as per instructions issued by the Government of Punjab vide Letter No. 1/50/83-5PP(1368)/3454 dated 23.04.1984 will be relaxed up to 40 years.
  • Age relaxation in upper age limit, upto 10 years is available to the disabled persons of Punjab.
  • An Ex-serviceman of Punjab domicile shall be allowed to deduct the period of his service in the Armed Forces of the Union from his actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for direct appointment to such a vacancy in the Service Rules concerned by more than three years, he shall be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding age limit.
